Varpe Control de Peso, S.A., in its clear commitment to improve the sustainability of its activities, has implemented and is in the process of certifying an environmental management system based on the UNE-EN ISO 14001 standard.
Within this regulatory framework, we have implemented various environmental improvement initiatives, some of which are summarised below:
- Increased waste recovery through the implementation of new segregation containers, improvements in the identification, and layout of waste areas, especially through environmental awareness and training campaigns.
- Evaluation of the installation of photovoltaic panels for more sustainable energy generation.
- Analysis of the implementation of digitalisation measures to reduce paper consumption.
- Implementation of an environmental balanced scorecard to evaluate our performance and as a basis for decision-making.
- Incorporation of environmental criteria in the supplier approval and evaluation processes.
- Collaboration with Barberà del Vallès City Council to calculate our carbon footprint, in order to establish a framework for reducing and offsetting our CO2 emissions.
